Your child’s day at Sure Steps is planned and structured to ensure that every child is offered a high quality, enriching and worthwhile experience every day. We follow the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) to provide a variety of resources and activities to stimulate your child’s imagination, from home areas where children love to role play to craft areas where they can get creative and messy! We love to give your child time to play independently and see where their imagination takes them, building their own confidence in their abilities. The EYFS covers the areas of learning, school readiness, nutrition and safeguarding as well as promoting British Values.
More information on the EYFS, its aims and objectives can be found here
Through recognising what interests your child, we are able to develop their activities by progressively stimulating them with exciting ideas and development plans individually tailored to your child. In addition, you will be given feedback at the end of each session and will be invited to attend meetings with your child’s key person as well as our seasonal newsletters.
Your child’s development will be recorded, tracked and shared with you through ‘Learning Book’ from the day they start. This online system allows you to view activities, pictures and videos uploaded to your child’s account by their key person. Learning Book allows you to view your child’s learning journey wherever you are, and make your own comments. Your comments are hugely valuable in supporting us, as the stronger our partnership is, the bigger impact we will make together on your child's happiness.
We ask you to complete an "All about me" so we can give your child the best start by learning all we can ahead of their first day. We offer settling in visits before you start nursery with the frequency and duration dictated by your child's needs.
We have a dedicated Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator who will ensure your child receives any additional support they may need. This may be through external agencies, referrals and additional funding for resources to support their learning journey.
